I'm a London-based double and electric bass player. My work includes varied sessions, TV, West End theatre, jazz, big band, and classical crossover. I've performed all over the world in concert halls, theatres and jazz venues, collaborating with and recording for a wide range of musicians including Graham Coxon, Sir Willard White, the Will Todd Trio, Simple Minds, Chrissie Hynde, Echo and the Bunnymen, Charlie Dore, the Tootsie Rollers, Miel de Botton and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, and I'm the regular bassist for the long-running Welsh live music TV show Noson Lawen. Recent long term projects include various UK and European tours and gigs with Mark Eitzel (American Music Club), Richard Durrant, Brian Protheroe, and Tony Blackburn. I also play cello and keyboards.
I am Director of CSSM Summer School of Music, held at Uppingham School in the first week of August, and have occasionally undertaken corporate business, INSET and music workshop education for the Wigmore Hall, the London Business School, Unilever, Stowe School and others.
My current personal projects are both piano trios:
- a modern jazz piano trio, Paradolia, which draws on all my musical experiences and features Jim Treweek (piano) and Ted Carrasco (drums)
