Gareth Huw Davies a London based double and electric bass player. My work includes varied sessions, TV, West End theatre, jazz, big band, and classical crossover. I have performed all over the world in concert halls, theatres and jazz venues, collaborating with and recording for a wide range of musicians including Graham Coxon, Sir Willard White, the Will Todd Trio, Simple Minds, Chrissie Hind, Echo and the Bunnymen, Charlie Dore, the Tootsie Rollers, Miel de Botton and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, and I am the regular bassist for the long running Welsh live music TV show Noson Lawen. Recent long term projects include various UK and European tours with Mark Eitzel (American Music Club) and a forthcoming series with Richard Durrant.  I also plays cello and keyboards.


Signal Creative Limited

I run Signal Creative, which offers music services including recording engineering and production. Signal has recently been involved with 

- a variety of album and other projects with composer Will Todd, Opera Holland Park, Saint Martins in the Fields, and producer Andy Wright

- music theatre keyboard programming, notably for the West End productions of Cabaret and Scrooge, and for the RSC, ATG and Bill Kenwright 

-  sound design, hire and operation, in particular for musicals at Westminster School. Sherborne School, and Wellington School

- hire and operation of  PA, recording equipment and keyboards to further these goals.


CSSM &c.

I am Director of CSSM Summer School of Music, held at Uppingham School from 4th-11th August and under the auspices of Signal Creative from 2018, and have occasionally undertaken corporate business, INSET and music workshop education for the Wigmore Hall, the London Business School, Unilever, Stowe School and others.



My current personal projects are both piano trios: 

a modern jazz piano trio, Paradolia, which draws on all my musical experiences and features Jim Treweek (piano) and Ted Carrasco (drums)


a piano led rock trio with the brilliant (and eponymous) Sam Swallow
